Spring Field Peas
Description
Forage peas are varieties of spring field peas designed for forage production rather than for grain production. They can reach a height of up to 3 feet, producing considerable amounts of both forage and nitrogen. They are often planted in combination with oats for forage production, and are usually planted in March for pasture or haying in May, or in August for grazing in November or December. Pure stand seeding rate is 40-60 pounds per acre, seeded at 1 inch depth.
