Description
Named for its noticeably square seedpod, seedbox can be found in wet to mesic soils in the eastern half of the United States and Canada. A perennial growing from 1-3 feet in height, it prefers full sun to achieve optimal growth. The little yellow flowers can be seen from July-September prior to the formation of its very tiny seed. Seed can be broadcast on bare soil in late fall and watered in. It is important to keep the soil wet during the growing season due to its intolerance of droughty conditions.
