Description
Widely distributed in the United States east of Nebraska and south of Michigan, this perennial legume inhabits open woodlands and wet meadows. Growing best in full sun, it reaches a height of 3-6 feet. Bright yellow flowers from July-September, give way to long pea pods that remain on the plant long after it has senesced for the year.
