Description

Perennial lupine, also known as sundial, is a perennial legume that is known as the only food source for the Karner Blue Butterfly larvae. This deep rooted plant can tolerate poor sandy soils and prefers full sun where it grows to a height of 2 feet. Found in the southern states and the northeastern parts of North America. It blooms from May-August with a range of colors from blue to white.
