Description

Found in the central and northern portions of North America, Thimbleweed is a perennial that grows to a height of 1-2 feet. Blooms of greenish-white flowers can be seen from June-July. The center of the flower is elongated and rounded which resembles a thimble. The seed head turns cotton like in the fall and the seeds are easily dispersed by the wind. It prefers full to partial sun and is known to be fairly drought tolerant. Shallow plantings in late fall or early spring are recommended.
