Growing up to 3 foot tall, this member of the mint family has beautiful purple flowers that bloom from May-July. Lemon mint prefers to grow in dry soils with full sun to partial shade. It is found distributed across the southern half of the United States growing in upland prairie and grasslands. Highly utilized by pollinators and humming birds who are attracted to its fragrant flowers. An easy annual species to grow, it will reseed itself and can form large colonies if allowed.
