Description

An early bloomer, May-June, prairie larkspur grows to a height of 1-4 feet before producing brilliant white flowers. Flowering begins at the bottom of the inflorescence and works its way up to produce blossoms for a month or more. Found growing in native prairies throughout the central portion of the United States from Texas to Canada. Prairie larkspur is known to be toxic when consumed so caution should be taken to not ingest any portion of the plant, including the seeds.
