Description

Jerusalem artichoke is a perennial member of the sunflower family that is widely distributed across the United States, especially the eastern half. This tall plant, 3-10 feet, produces a tuber that is used in food and liquor production. The bright yellow flowers are in bloom from August-October. It grows well in full sun and partial shade in grasslands and open woodlands. Grown in gardens and landscape settings, Jerusalem artichoke is easy to grow and low maintenance.
