Description

The deep purple flowers of Baldwin’s ironweed can be seen blooming across pastures and grassland of central United State from July-September. This perennial, growing between 2-4 feet in height, prefers full sunlight and moist ground, but will do well in many different grassland conditions. Not eaten by cattle due to its bitter taste, this plant will increase in overgrazed pastures.
