Description

Cream gentian, a perennial, is slow to establish but once it does, it is very long lived and maintenance free. Native habitat includes moist soiled uplands and bottomlands from Oklahoma and Missouri, north and east to the great lakes region. Blooming from August-September, the cream/white blossoms are pollinated by bumblebees, which are one of the few insects strong enough to open the closed flowers. Growing to a height of 3 feet, it prefers full sun to partial shade.
