Description

Silky/Hairy golden aster is a deep tap rooted perennial found in the western half of the United States from the Great Lakes to Texas and west to the coast. Less desirable to grazers as some of the other asters, it occupies upland/grasslands with well-drained medium to dry soils. It will grow to a height of 8-20 inches under proper growing conditions. It prefers full sun where its bright yellow flowers can be seen blooming from July-September.
